The New Normal

I don’t need to list the horrific things we’re all going through right now as we recover from coercive control. You all know. It’s an unchartered course of unwinding the weird things that went on, resolving loss, grieving and realizing: It’s okay if the laundry piles up. It doesn’t matter if we’re ordering delivery of toilet paper and groceries because we can’t make it to the store.

Nobody cares how the towels are folded. Who says potato chips aren’t a vegetable? And let’s face it, binging our favorite calming episodic show for the 3rd time isn’t giving up or caving in but could be part of restoring our lives! Things aren’t back to normal, but the adrenaline has subsided enough that we sort of fall down into what some might consider a wreck. Or lazy. I call it healing.
