A Coaching Agreement is standard and customary when working with a certified professional coach.

Coaching Agreement

This agreement is made between Jennifer Smith of True Love Scam Recovery (“Coach”) and the participating party (“Client”).

What is Coaching: Coaching is a collaborative process within an ongoing professional relationship between the Client and Coach. The coaching experience supports the Client in broadening and attaining new perspectives and therefore changes in behavior and efforts towards established goals.

Goals and Intention: The coaching goals are discussed and implemented in partnership between the Client and Coach. The role of the Coach is to support the Client’s progress toward achieving a specified goal or goals. Coaching sessions are personalized, and customized for the Client’s communication style, and goals.

The Client and Coach agree to engage fully in the coaching experience.
The Client recognizes that coaching is not meant to substitute a licensed therapist, practicing attorney, licensed medical doctor or any other mental health professional and is not therapy, counseling, or consulting.
The Client is fully aware that “Jennifer Smith” is a pseudonym for personal safety and privacy.
The Client is allowed to use an alias or pseudonym for safety and privacy in light of their circumstances.
The Client is fully aware that the nature of discoveries made within the coaching hours and subsequent realizations may be intense. A profound level of discovery and understanding of the nature of narcissistic abuse and coercive control and specifically in relation to the Client’s experience will take place.

Shared Confidentiality

The Coach and Client agree to maintain absolute confidentiality of all conversations and information shared within sessions. No personal information of the Client will be shared by the Coach with anyone without the Client’s express permission. Likewise, all information or identifying characteristics of the Coach and including direct session contact information shall remain confidential between the Client and the Coach.

The Coaching Commitment

By entering into coaching, the Client and Coach acknowledge that the Client desires to make a behavioral change for progressive change or some type of improvement in his or her life. This kind of shift and manifest change often takes time to implement and sustain. The pace of change is uncertain and varies amongst individuals.

Best results are found in a continuation of effort and positive progress, which does not preclude a kind of shedding process as new forward-moving elements are put in place and breakthroughs occur.

The collaborative coaching journey is concluded when defined goals are reached in the Client’s estimation. The collaborative coaching journey concludes at the discretion of either the Coach or the Client. A concluding or final session in which the process thus far is reviewed for closure is preferable.

Coaching Sessions Procedures and Parameters

Coaching sessions occur by phone, without video or camera functions, and can include emailed session summaries from the Coach to the Client or inquiries and replies from Client to Coach.

The Coach and Client agree to adhere to established appointment times.
The Coach and Client agree to begin and finish all appointments on time.
**Exceptions for extension of a session is noted below.
The Client will call in to the Coach for each coaching session, using the telephone number provided by email as sent to the Client from the Coach at scheduling confirmation, and/or in an appointment reminder.
Late for a scheduled appointment: If it is more than 15-minutes beyond the start of an appointment time with no call or word from the Client, the Coach will not continue to expect the Client to call, and that appointment will be classified as a missed appointment and shall then fall under the procedure of a missed appointment as defined below in Rescheduled, Canceled and Missed Appointments.

Fee Schedule

Coaching session fees are calculated from the one-hour rate. To facilitate the Client’s efforts, the more hours of coaching services pre-purchased in a one-time payment, a percentage reduction from the one-hour rate is built into the fee schedule the percentage plateaus at 12 hours. Bespoke hours/rate packages are negotiable.

Payments

Fees are due and payable prior to the coaching services being provided. Payments may be made by Venmo or by PayPal and by means provided via the PayPal platform including debit and credit cards. Other payment methods may be agreed upon prior to payments or coaching services by the Client and Coach.

Place a Session Series On Hold

The Client may request that a multiple-hour session series (a package) be placed on hold. After they’re initiated, and with the express agreement between the Client and the Coach, a pre-paid series of coaching sessions can be suspended for up to a period of six months; all unused or unscheduled series sessions expire and are forfeited if not otherwise placed on hold within nine-months of purchase.

Rescheduled, Canceled, and Missed Appointments

Reschedule an Appointment: Rescheduling is possible by the Client with notice to the Coach by email (jennifer@truelvoescam.com) up to 24-hours before the appointment. The Client then has 30-days to schedule the replacement appointment. If after 30-days no replacement session is used or scheduled:

The original appointment and fees are forfeited. For continuing single or group sessions a new appointment must be made, and a new fee must be remitted.
If a series, that session-hour is deducted from the total series hours, and the remainder of the series is viable and usable for up to 30-days.
- After a total of 30-days, no hold has been placed on the series, and if no additional sessions in the series have been used, rescheduled or scheduled, the remainder of the series is void, the fee is forfeited, and is non-refundable.

Cancel an Appointment: Appointments may be canceled by the Client up to 24-hours prior to the set appointment time. If this is so, the appointment is eligible for rescheduling, see “Reschedule an Appointment” above. If the appointment is canceled by the Client later than 24-hours in advance it counts as a missed appointment, see “Missed Appointments” below.

In the unlikely event that the Coach cancels an appointment, all fees paid by the Client remain usable and redeemable and the appointment will be rescheduled by the Coach or may be rescheduled by the Client any time in the upcoming 120-days.

Missed Appointments: A missed appointment is when a Client is a “no-show” and does not call in or give any prior notice. A missed appointment can be made a replacement appointment within 3-days from the missed appointment. However, only half (50%) of the original appointment fee will be applied to the Client’s new replacement appointment. The Client must make up the other half fee (50%) in a new fee remittance to validate the new appointment.

If the missed appointment was a one-hour or two-hour single session, the Client has 3-days to schedule a replacement appointment and make a 50% fee remittance. Beyond the 3-days, the fee and appointment are forfeited. In order to continue coaching sessions, a new appointment is required, and a new fee must be remitted.
If the missed appointment was a series session and no rescheduling took place within 3-days of the missed appointment, that session entire is forfeited from the series. The remaining coaching hours in the series stand under the conditions as follows:
- After 30-days, with no communication from the Client, and if a continuing appointment drawn against the pre-paid series hours has not been used or scheduled, the remainder of the series is forfeited and non-refundable.
If this was a missed group session, the fee is forfeited, and in order to continue sessions a new group appointment is required, and a new fee must be remitted.

Transferability: Sessions are non-transferable. All appointments and pre-paid sessions are for use by the Client only and cannot be transferred or gifted to another.

Extended Sessions

Time allowing, before a session ends and for the benefit of the Client, session time can be extended to the current session in progress in 30 or 60 minute increments, dependent upon the Coach’s availability. Fees for an extension of session time must be remitted while in session before continuing.

Exceptional Circumstances

There is no effective coaching possible while a Client is intoxicated. If a client indicates signs of being under the influence of alcohol, any narcotic, intoxicant or recreational drug during a session, the session will immediately be terminated. There will be no refund due to the Client for any unused session time. This could potentially cancel a Client from any further sessions. These determinations and decisions are at the sole discretion and judgment of Jennifer Smith, TLSR.
